This is a typography project inspired by Jim Tierney’s cover of Frank Herbert’s novel Dune. I decided to use a warm color palette to reflect the desert climate of the planet Dune. I turned the “UN” in “Dune” into a sandworm, a creature from the novel. The challenge of this design was showing the scale of the sandworm and adding a small amount of depth by having the sandworm’s details start to fade into the distance.
